There are no formalities for hosting a Drive to Dine event other than letting Dean know so it can be added to our list! Dean's contact information is below.

Drive to Dine 2008 (Fahren zum Essen)

The goal, as many of you know, is to have these events around the state to permit small groups of members to get together informally. One element of the program has been to showcase a favorite (sometimes little known) eatery. But well known places work equally well.

Hosting one of these events is simply a matter of locating a facility willing to have from 6-to-26 for a lunch off the menu. No guarantee of attendance will be provided and no charge for a room can be accepted. Seating around one extended table, or a couple of larger tables or at the least adjoining tables in a separate area (from main dining) works the best. It appears the availability of adult beverages or ice cream/custard desert will improve attendance. The host plans (well in advance), keeps the restaurant posted near the date, accepts telephone or email reservations and arrives early to coordinate with the facility. Additionally, the host submits a small paragraph to promote the event, and a 2-3 paragraph summary immediately after the event to submit to our Badger Star Newsletter and the MBCA STAR magazine.

Please volunteer early and get your event organized promptly so we can publish a comprehensive list in many newsletters. Contact me at dcpearson@wi.rr.com with suggested locations and to volunteer for a very easy hosting opportunity.
